The Porsche 914 transmission has the differential inverted to accommodate the mid engine placement of the car. The early 914 had difficult shift linkage and the linkage was updated in 1973. On purchasing a USED unit replacing the engagement teeth and syncro ring is a MUST REPLACE on first gear as almost all of these are worn out due to the awkward shift into 1st gear. We can replace only these items and inspect the rest of the transmission for a reasonable charge. Please Inqire as to current cost. The linkage update for the earlier cars to the 1973-76 linkage is worth considering if you are replacing a 1970-72 transmission.
